Carnival (2 February – 31 March 2019)
Carnival or Fuesend is celebrated big time in Luxembourg. It’s time to dress up, party and have candy. It starts on Candlemas day (2 Feb 2019) goes on until Bretzelsonndeg (Pretzel Sunday), the 4th Sunday of Lent (31 March 2019). During that period a lot of Carnival events and parades takes place !

Stréimännchen
(6 March 2019) >> a straw “guy” (“Stréimännchen”) is paraded in the streets. It’s is thrown into the river at the Moselle bridge signifies the end of the Moselle Carnival.

Lux Film Fest
Over eleven days, the Luxembourg City Film Festival features a vast panorama of contemporary fiction and documentary films both international and national, events and workshops in the three partner cinema complexes (Ciné Utopia, Utopolis Kirchberg – part of Kinepolis Group and the Cinémathèque de la Ville de Luxembourg) and many of the capital’s cultural institutions.
