Duck Race Digital Edition

It’s the time of the year when many rubber ducks compete in the annual Duck race! This year you can follow it online! You can  purchase your own duck to participate in the race – see the website below. All proceeds from the ducks go to charity.

Pony Rides (Booking required, in DE)

Pony rides for everyone! Rides are 15 minutes each. Old clothes and sturdy shoes are recommended. Plenty of activities and various outside games will be available too

Fossils in the quarry (Booking required)

Kids will be looking for fossils of molluscs, snails and cephalopods in an ancient coral reef. For this activity, you can bring your own camera or your own cell phone! Send your photos to the following address: science-club@mnhn.lu.

Discover the diversity of the cultural heritage of the city of Luxembourg while having fun with the LABO Patrimoine! The LABO Patrimoine is a small mobile laboratory with fun and creative tools that allow you to explore your city or town and observe the elements of the architectural heritage that you come across every day, sometimes without seeing them. This year, the theme of European Heritage Days 2021 is “Heritage for All” and that is why the LUCA Luxembourg Center for Architecture is offering two workshops open to ALL children aged 9 to 12.

“Journée du patrimoine” / Fond-de-Gras (Booking required)

As part of the European Heritage Days, Train 1900 volunteers are opening their workshops and sharing their know-how. Rail traffic is provided by the De Dietrich railcar, a special outing for this “micheline” belonging to the SSMN (Service des sites et monuments nationaux). In the programme:
– Exceptional demonstrations: riveting of parts, wagon braking system, handling, ironwork
– Rides in the cab of a steam locomotive for the public
– Visit of the ProActif workshop, a measure for reintegration into employment which supports the volunteers in the renovation of railway equipment
