Geenzefest is a traditional Luxembourg festival celebrating the broom (“Geenz” in Luxembourgish), a shrub with bright yellow flowers that grows abundantly on the hills of the Éislek region. Held annually on Whit Monday, the festival features a vibrant flower parade with over 40 floats, music societies, majorette battalions, and folklore groups marching through the streets of Wiltz. The event also includes exhibitions, the crowning of the Broom Queen, a flea market, folk displays, concerts, shows, and the famous broom dance. Celebrated since 1948, the festival honors the beauty of the local landscape and the singing, music, and folklore of the Ardennes.
