This is a Christian festival celebrating the arrival of the Three Wise Men, or Kings, to see the baby Jesus. By tradition on that day in Luxembourg people eat ‘galette des rois” – a frangipane cake with a charm figurine and a paper crown. Whoever gets the figurine hidden inside the cake is pronounced King/Queen of the day.
