22 June Luxembourg National Day’s Eve
16:00 Changing of the guards at the Grand-Ducal Palace. The army presents a military spectacle in front of Grand Ducal Place with the official changing of the guard. At 16:10 Grand Duke and Grand Duchess and the royal family will make a public appearance on the balcony of the Palace.
– 19h – Numerous concerts and DJ sessions in the city center (place d’Armes, place de la Constitution, place du Theatre, place Guillame II). At 8h.30 pm a concert at the corner of blvd FD Roosevelt and rue de la Congregation until the arrival of Their Royal Highness.
– 21:20 Torchlight Procession – parade with firefighters, local associations, guides and scout. Starts at Puits Rouge up to blvd FD Roosevelt where the Grand Duke will salute the participants.
– 23:00 Fireworks – the best spot to see them is Gella Fra, AL Breck or Hollerich
23 June National Day
National holiday: On 23 June the people of Luxembourg have a public holiday to celebrate the Grand Duke’s birthday. This national holiday is celebrated with lots of official events, parties and games for children and several concerts in the evening. Check your commune’s websiyte for details how it will be celebrate in your town/village! Otherwise here is Lux city program:
10:00 Official Ceremony – will be held at the Philharmonie this year with guetss like members of the Parliament, local authorities, etc…Everyone may apply for tickets at www.government.lu
11:00 Gun Salute. A 21-gun salute fired from Fetschenhof.
11.30 Military Parade – avenue de la Liberte. The security forces will march in their ceremonial uniforms. Grand Duke Henri will be present as well.
16:30 Te Deum – a religious service at the Cathedral of Luxembourg. The Grand Ducal Family, politicians and civil servants, selected members of society and diplomats will head to the Cathedral Te Deum for solemn religious service.
Spillfest – Games for the Whole Family at “Kinnekswiss”
Part of the “Kinnekswiss” municipal park will be transformed into a world full of creative workshops and games for children and adults.

Butterflies in Haard Nature Reserve (Booking required by 22 June)
A guided tour of the Haard’s reserve butterflies, with expert Josy Cungs, who knows the fauna and flora of the reserve better than anyone else!

Open Air Konstfestival
Lellingen, a wonderful little village, turns once a year into a vivid and colorful open-air art gallery. Known beyond the borders of the Grand Duchy, the festival attracts over 4,500 visitors per year. Love Letters to Luxembourg
It’s time we create some gratitude for this fabulous country! Write (or draw) your own love letter to Luxembourg on any of the CSL postcards scattered throughout the city (Cercle Cité, Neimenster, Colisee Restaurant, Nordic Stella, Fischer bakeries, Philharmonie, Bierger Center, Hotel de Ville, Konrad Cafe to name a few) and leave it in a Love Letters dropbox. We’ll collect all the postcards and cover the walls of the Cercle Cité with your love in a final event on June 29th. You can also share a photo of your postcard on social media (#loveletterslux) to be entered to win a prize for the best love letter to Luxembourg!

Bee Trail – Kids Learn Why Bees Are Awesome
Head over with the kids to the 2.5 km bee trail that goes across the city and includes 13 information stops. There you will discover the richness of biodiversity in the city as well as the world of bees (just a few examples of the adventures that awaits you on the tour: a hive on the roof of a building, a hotel for wild bees, and much more)! Alternatively, teach your kids about the importance of bees and the ecosystem with the BeePopulate game. With this app you can design virtual garden for bees to pollinate!
